La Plagne is a winter sports ressort in the Tarentaise valley, located in the territories of the communes of Aime-la-Plagne, Champagny-en-Vanoise and La Plagne-Tarentaise, in the departement of Savoy in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alps region .
The various installations of the newintegrated station began in 1961. Today, the station has eleven village stations. There are seven altitude stations, which are located on the communes of Aime-la-Plagne (formerly Aime) and La Plagne-Tarentaise (formerly Mâcot-la-Plagne), these are Plagne-Aime 2000 (new name of Aime-la-Plagne), Plagne Centre, Plagne-Villages, Plagne 1800, Plagne Bellecôte, Belle Plagne, Plagne Soleil, distinguished by Plagne Montalbert on the hamlet of Longefoy (Aime-la-Plagne, formerly Aime), and of Montchavin and Les Coches resorts in the town of La Plagne-Tarentaise(formely Bellentre) and Champagny on Champagny-en-Vanoise. All the slopes form the ski area of « Grande Plagne »,managed by the Syndicat Intercommunal de la Grande Plagne (SIGP). This ski area offers 225 km of downhill slopes and 95 ski lifts)
Since 2003, the estate has been connected by the Vanoise Express cable car to the one of Les Arcs and of Peisey-Vallandry, thus forming the great domain ofParadiski.
